Swatch Warns of Ongoing Political and Economic Challenges in 2026

Swatch Group AG is preparing for ongoing economic and political instability throughout 2026, as the Swiss watchmaker condemned tariffs and trade disruptions that have shaken the luxury industry.

“Challenges will continue to accompany us every step of the way,” board chair Nayla Hayek stated in Swatch’s annual report released Wednesday. She added that the company faces an “uncertain, sometimes schizophrenic world, where the self-interest of the strongest prevails at the expense of the collective interest.”
